An estimated 250 donors gave their bikes, books, clothing, furniture, games and other gently used household items at the first-ever Un-Dumpster Day on Saturday, June 4. The event was hosted by South-Broadland Presbyterian Church at 7850 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, Mo.

Re.Use.Full Advisory Board members and additional volunteers helped direct traffic, unload donations and thank donors for their generosity. Participating charity partners included:
- Band of Angels
- Creative Emajinations
- Flourish Furnishings
- Healing House Inc.
- Newhouse
- PCs for People
- Scraps KC
- Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity

In addition, the City of Kansas City, Mo., Solid Waste Department provided a shredding truck, an always-popular service to ensure that confidential documents are destroyed safely.

The event was covered by FOX4 reporter, Carey Wickersham, and drew people from as far as Independence. Some charity partners even had to leave before the event was over because their trucks, vans and cars were packed full of still-good stuff.
We look forward to the next event in October and hope to have even more Re.Use.Full charity partners there to accept in-kind donations so they can help more people and pets in the Kansas City area.
Look for a “save the date” soon!
