DESCRIPTION:\n\nWe throw away a lot of stuff, often because it’s cheaper to replace rather than repair it or we just don’t know how to fix it. That’s where Repair Cafés come in!\n\nTogether with our volunteers, you can have your broken items repaired instead of tossing them.*\n\nWe’ll be doing fixes for items such as:\n\nBikes\nClothing/textiles (repairs only, no alterations, please)\nComputers (Virus/malware removal, file transfers, other basic repairs)\nElectronics\nJewelry\nLamps\nSmall appliances (e.g., replacing cords on handmixers, toasters, irons, etc.)\n\n*Limit of 1 item per turn and 3 items total. Stay for additional turns if volunteers are available to help.\n\nClothing Swap:\nThis Repair Café will feature a clothing swap where you can bring your clothing to trade with others—spruce up your closet the sustainable way!\n\n\n\nBONUS FEATURE — BOOK DRIVE:\nWe’ll be collecting books for our Charity Partner, Friends of the Johnson County Library, at this event, so round up those books you no longer want or need and bring them to the Repair Café and Clothing Swap!\n\n\n\nVolunteers needed!If you’re someone who enjoys tinkering or problem-solving to get something working again or loves to organize, we’re looking for volunteers!
